Situation.
South Korea, is a country of East Asia which covers the southern half
Korean peninsula. With north, its single land borders
of a 238 km length with the North Korea,
is consisted the demilitarized zone (DMZ) which is,
in fact, the most militarized in the world.
The Republic of Korea or South Korea is located at the east of Asia,
on the southernmost half of the Korean peninsula advancing projecting
out of Far East of the Asian ground mass.
South Korea is especially surrounded by water and thus has 2.413 km
of littoral along three seas, Yellow sea in the west, China Sea of
south-west in south-east, and the east sea of Japan (or sea of the East for the Koreans.
290 km ² of South Korea are occupied by fresh water.
South Korea has nearly 3.000 islands distributed in the west
and in the south of the peninsula.
Currently, South Korea is classified twelfth power
economic world according to the calculation of the gross domestic product
in purchasing power parity and fifteenth according to the traditional monetary criterion.
